High quality flat iron
I did a rather extensive search and review of flat irons before I decided to purchase this as a present for my upper teen daughter. I was intrigued by the various qualities of the product–it sounded good, especially in regard to not being damaging to the hair. My daughter loves it! Her hair is long and has been damaged from previous flat irons, hair coloring, etc. Her hair is shiny and smooth after use of the Croc. She also reports that it heats up very quickly–which she likes, and does not burn her hair.

For anyone who simply wants to know if this is the recent theatrical version, like myself–it’s not. It’s the same as the 10th Anniversary Edition, with the stuff from the cutting room floor thrown wait on into the movie, instead of in Bonus Features where it belongs. I’m so thankful I detached have the oringinal release that I savor on video.

There are a couple of reasons why you may want to go with this “Special” edition of this charming and very new update of the classic “Cinderella” fable. The first is that at this time, the fresh edition seems to be unavailable, except from the outside sellers with prices higher then this one. The second reason is the improbable music video with Natalie Cole doing one of the best songs from the film, “Wild Women Do”. Other then that, I did not earn anything really “special” about this “special” edition.

Here’s what you score…A “Slack the Scenes” featurette, which runs a couple of minutes and is unbiased some footage of Geer, Roberts and Marshall, getting ready to shoot a scene at the Polo game with the “Lovely Woman” music playing in the background. There is a very short production featurette, and except for Garry Marshall telling us what the film is about, appeared to be nothing considerable more than a long trailer. There is also the option of Director commentary, which may be viewed during the film, and the film is in widescreen, but both of these features are also available on the new release.

There is also some extra footage. An added scene where Vivian takes Edward succor to her stomping grounds so she can check on Kit, and the two are confronted by drug dealers hardly seemed famous. As a matter of fact it seemed to detract from the fable, as it too soon takes the audience befriend out Vivian’s fairy legend world we have entered briefly.

As far as the film itself, I serene treasure it 15 years after it’s fresh release. Wonderfully directed by Garry Marshall, it’s a feel salubrious film, and a improbable admire memoir that makes you feel you can fulfill your dreams. A substantial soundtrack, and the agreeable cast including Laura San Giacomo(she was a expansive Kit), Jason Alexander, Hector Elizondo, Elinor Donahue, and tale Ralph Bellamy, all produce this a very special film all on it’s acquire.

The DVD presents a very nice report in widescreen, and advantageous sound in Dolby surround. There are nice captions in English for those needing them, but no other subtitles. The note is actually ravishing decent for a “special” edition, unprejudiced don’t retract it expecting a ton of extra goodies.

Good computer, fast startup, too bad about the HP junk software
This computer, loaded with 8 Gigs of ram and AMD Phenom, is nice and fast.

My own computer use does not include any heavy duty gaming, so I can’t provide any insight on performance from that perspective. However, my job is in computer graphics, and from that perspective, I can say this is a heck of a nice computer. Photoshop really zips on this thing, and my initial experiments with Premiere, Flash Pro, VirtualDubMod, and Pinnacle all look very good in terms of speed. I don’t have any major complaints so far with the hardware.

The downside to any HP computer is that this manufacturer is the worst purveyor of absolute junk software, not to mention loads of demo garbageware from various payola agreements they’ve signed. If you buy this or any other HP computer, and if you really care about its software environment, hop online and look for any guides you can find that describe how to remove and disable HP junk and garbageware. Plan on spending a full day cleaning the computer out. Then replace everything, especially the worthless HP software, with highly regarded opensource programs downloadable from CNET and other reputable sites.

As for Windows 7, while the new operating system is not without a ton of annoyances, it is a reasonable improvement over Vista. First thing I did is kill the notorious User Account Control (UAC), although you need to know what you’re doing if you take drastic measures like that. UAC is the amusing little system that confirms you really want to do whatever you just did, forcing you to click “OK” over and over as you try to actually use the computer. What a joy! I spent another full day changing Windows settings, trying to figure out where Microsoft hid certain features, and dumping much of the helpful (intrusive) trash that comes preconfigured with this operating system. It would be nice if Windows would just stay the heck out of the way.

So my four stars go to RAM and AMD, none to HP or Microsoft.

Very good home computer.
Upon the demise of my four year old single core HP laptop that had served me well I searched for a desk top that would meet my needs. I reviewed Consumer Reports, CNET and other on line reviews of computers. I also looked into many types of processors. Once I found my processor I found the computer that used it and went from there. Long story short I came to the conclusion that this HP with the Core I3 processor was the one for me.

Everything set up easily and has been working very well for about a month now. I am pleased with the size of the hard drive, processor performance and Windows 7 is good too. There are no negatives at all to date.

After shopping around the electronic box stores I determined that there was nothing gained by purchasing from any of them thus I used Amazon and shaved a few bucks off the price.

You might do better with another computer somewhere but for the money I would recommend this one to a best friend.

No Complaints
After having built my last PC and pricing out the parts to build another one, I decided just to purchase this one. I have had HPs before and have no complaints (except for Vista - which isn’t HPs fault).

Picked this one up from a retailer in a combo deal for $699 with 21″ monitor plus a 3 year extended warranty. Connected to internet with no problems, configured the wireless connection with no problem, etc. Mail client is acceptable. Windows 7 is vast improvement over Vista. First thing I did was remove Norton and some other preloaded junk and installed a set of free antivirus/antispyware packages available for free on-line. Runs quickly, while the video is shared, if you are not running any graphic intensive video games, it is good enough. DVDs and HiDef runs smoothly.

For the money, 8gb ram, 1Tb HD, with 2.8 quad processor not bad. Your ability to expand is somewhat limited due to only having a 300 watt power supply, so if you do add a video card, you probably need to upgrade PS also. I added a second DVD drive with minimal effort. Will add a second HD in near future, beyond that I see no need for anything more for my use.

If you’re torturing yourself over which Barney DVD to settle, conclude here. This rendition of Mother Goose introduces a mountainous number of rhymes and songs with a truly improbable actress as Mother Goose and a magical area with accurate storybook quality props. My daughter adores this one and is constantly singing and dancing the many numbers from the disc. My only complaint is that in the opening scene, one of the kids is trying to write rhymes and was crumpling up sheets of paper and tossing them on the floor in frustration. My daughter started trying to do this and we had to remark her that this was a prankish thing to do and that Barney forgot to point it out.

My eighteen month used daughter loves Barney and this video is among the best. Bewitching and makes nursery rhymes approach alive. I would highly recommend it, along with Barney’s Clean Singing Circus.

Great..
It works a lot better than my old QSD004. I have it all configured and port forwarded to my Internet IP with its on port. I can view it from the Net anywhere I wish and can control the settings. One thing I did notice is the web manager interface uses ACTIVEX, which was a pain is the *** at first. Im a big firefox fan and use that browser..so now i have to use explorer to view my system. I bought a very cheap 500gb sata drive for this at newegg for 40 bucks. Good system for the price and lots of features. I recommend it, would have got 5 stars but email setup seems not to be functional at this time..see below.

Con: I can not get the Email Setup for motion detection to work at all, I have tried over and over, everything is configured correctly. It just doesnt work..I’ll update later if this changes.
